Burns an' a' that! Cafe Talks - Fri 1st and Sun 3rd June


Cafe Talks is coming to Su Casa as part of the Burns Brightly section of Burns an' a' that! Festival 2012, Burns Brightly is part of Roofless, a nationwide outdoor arts project, produced by UZ Arts.

There will be two Cafe Talk nights at Su Casa - Fri 1st June and Sun 3rd June for a 7-7.30 start. 

Friday night will be Alistair Ogilvy and Alan Bissett:
Alistair is a young Scottish folk singer songwriter, he is going to discuss and sing about the reality of 'Scots' music, linking it up to the songs of Robert Burns.
Alan is a novelist and poet, he will be discussing Burns' politics, his relationships with women and the songs he wrote about them.

Sunday night will be Diane Torr:
Diane is a performance artist who works in dance, drag king performance, installation. She has a lot of material on Robert Burns and she will be talking about Burns' bawdy poems and their historical and social context.

Alan Frew and Little Fire will be performing and hosting and this thursday will see the return of Little Fire ( Jamie ) after his gigging in Australia.

The live performances will begin at 7.30pm and entry is £5.

This Saturday 3rd March - Brown Bear and the Bandits EP Listening/ Launch Party

Social Bands Presents....

Brown Bear & The Bandits E.P Listening /Launch Party
Brown Bear and the Bandits are returning to Su Casa! This time it will be for the first ever showcase of their debut E.P! It will also mark the launch of their official website!

The E.P will be played and followed by an acoustic set :)

They will also be joined for sets by the amazing Little Fire & the wonderful Paul McGranaghan!

Please bring along phones/  Ipads & Laptops and tweet/facebook throughout the gig about the acts, the EP the venue and lets make this a really interactive night :)

The E.P will also be available for Pre-Sales on the night! :)

It is a RSVP event and limited to 50 places so get yourself on the list early!
It is £5 entry and you can get on the list by popping into Su Casa from today and paying your £5 to be put on the list! Spaces on the door will be limited and on a first come first served basis - so book now to avoid disappointment! :)
